5827 telephone numbers have been tapped unlawfully through the surveillance system of the Department for Counterintelligence at the Ministry of Interior from 2008 until 2015. This was said today by the special prosecutor, Fatime Fetai, during the publication of an investigation case called “Target”.

According to her, the surveillance has taken place through three different systems, while in this case there are 10 suspects, current officials and former officials of the secret services.

“The first suspect, who had a senior position within DSK had ordered for politicians, businessmen and journalists to be followed. The second suspect, in coordination with the first suspect, had carried out the surveillance process”, said prosecutor Fatime Fetai.

The Special Prosecution said that among those who had been most under surveillance was leader of the Democratic Party of Albanians, Menduh Thaci, leader of BDI (Democratic Union for Integration), Ali Ahmeti, leader of the United Party for Macedonia, Lube Boskovski and deputy Prime Minister Musa Xhaferri. /balkaneu.com/
