Two and a half years after being granted the EU candidate status, Albania is expecting accession talks to be launched.
The European Commission will publish the progress reports on the Balkan countries and on Turkey on 9 November.
Information coming from the European Commission suggests that it will issue a conditional recommendation for the launch of accession talks between Albania and the EU.
The positive recommendation comes as a reward about the fact that the reform in justice was voted unanimously by all political sides in the country.
But the European Commission requests Albania to establish as soon as possible the new institutions that stem from the new Constitution, the implementation of the reform in justice and concrete results in the fight against corruption and organized crime.
Analysts are not very enthusiastic about this political development. They say that the recommendation is conditional and that it makes the opening of accession talks more difficult. The EU member countries are skeptic even in cases when the Commission has issued positive unconditional recommendations. /balkaneu.com/
