Albania has been included for the first time in the World Bank report called “The Benchmarking Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) Procurement 2017” .
In the evaluation of the 82 world economies, Albania is part of the group “Europe and Central Asia”.
Among the 82 world economies that have been evaluated, Albania is ranked on the 14th position.
The report evaluates Albania in four domains: Preparation of PPS, 67 points, procurement, 78 points, management of proposals, 75 points, management of contracts, 55 points.
In comparison to the countries of the region, Albania is given a high score in the phase of the preparation of the projects and the handling of proposals.
According to this report, not all countries have a legal framework that regulates the Public-Private Partnership.
Only 49% of them, which includes Albania, have legal provisions for concessions and PPPs.
The report says that in the recent years, PPPs on a global level have marked positive performance, being confirmed as a very important instrument in the consolidation of infrastructure. /balkaneu.com/
