Albanian opposition complains to the US ambassador on the election of the Prosecutor General
The leader of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha has expressed today to the US ambassador to Tirana, Donald Lu, the concerns of the opposition on the election of the interim Prosecutor General, which, according to him, was anti-constitutional.

“Basha told the US ambassador that the fact that the High Board of Prosecutors has not yet been set up, the usurpation of the powers of this board by Parliament, the election of a Prosecutor General by a simple majority, the election of the Prosecutor General without undergoing the vetting process, constitute an anti-constitutional putsch, which has put the justice system in a crisis, it has destroyed the political process in the country and it is generating a destabilizing crisis for the country”, the Democratic Party declared in a press statement.

According to the head of the opposition, the interests of the Albanian people and the USA are only upheld by condemning the fact that Albania has turned into a country of drugs and crime, by not tolerating government officials’ ties with drugs and crime and by demanding their conviction. /balkaneu.com/
