Ankara: Increased security measures against possible terror attack threats

According to a Monday statement by the governorate of the Turkish capital Ankara, security measures in the city are being increased against possible terror attack threats.

The statement read that the governorate "was tipped off by the U.S. Embassy in Ankara about possible terror threats against U.S. embassy personnel and U.S. citizens living in the city", Anadolu news agency reports.

In the past year, the Turkish capital has faced no such incidents but that was not the case in 2015 and 2016, when several terror attacks took place in Ankara "by PYD/PKK and Daesh terrorist groups" killing many citizens and living several others injured.../IBNA
