Kosovo’s 2017 budget with a value of over 2 billion euros, is turning into an object of debates between governing coalition parties, namely between Democratic Party of Kosovo and Kosovo’s Democratic League.
Deputy ministers of finance, which belong to the two parties of the government coalition, have different opinions about the projections, division and the planning of the budget for next year.
For the deputy minister of Finance from the ranks of the Democratic Party, Isni Kilaj, this budget has been artificially increased. Meanwhile, the deputy minister of Finance from the Democratic League, Agim Krasniqi says that the budget is real and agreed according to the standards of the IMF.
Kilaj says that the budget increase relies on the funds secured by the Kosovo Privatization Agency and T-bills.
According to him, budget planning has mistakes, as the funds of the Kosovo Privatization Agency cannot be used without first approving a bill.
On the other hand, deputy minister Krasniqi says that all the indicators of the budget are achievable.
“Why should this budget be fictitious and unreal? Let us put aside individual opinions and rely on principles. No figure in this budget has gone without being harmonized with the IMF”. /balkaneu.com/
