The talks between the Albanian head of diplomacy and senior officials of the Turkish state have focused on the issue of FETO’s structures in Albania. Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cabusoglu has told his Albanian counterpart that FETO has a serious structure in Albania.

Mr. Cavusoglu has also mentioned this fact in a meeting with journalists a few moments  after a closed doors meeting with him.

“FETO terrorist organization has a serious structure in Albania. As far as this issue is concerned, the two countries have a very good cooperation”, said Mr. Cavusoglu. He said that during the meeting with Bushati, both interlocutors have discussed on the steps that will be taken, while revealing that he has also shared information with his Albanian counterpart.

According to the head of the Turkish diplomacy, a decision has been taken for the relations between Albania and Turkey to be raised to a level of strategic partnership. He said that this process will be finalized in a short period of time.

As far as FETO’s structure in Albania is concerned, Foreign Minister Bushati said that “we share the same stance with Turkey, we support Turkey and we are determined on this issue”.

“As far as the domestic legal procedure is concerned, we’re cooperating with the Turkish government to overcome any obstacle”, he said.

“We support Turkey on this issue. We’re with Turkey every step of the way”, Mr. Bushati said. Bushati also pointed out that “the Albanian government has condemned the 15 July attempt for coup d’etat”.

The dismantlement of FETO’s structures in Albania was also at the focus of the meeting that the Turkish PM had with Bushati.

The Turkish PM, Binali Yildirim said that FETO is a terrorist organization, which is not only dangerous for Turkey, but also the countries where it operates. In the meeting with Bushati, he said that he wants to boost cooperation in the fight against FETO.

Ankara officially declared today that a decision has been taken for the relations between Albania and Turkey to be raised to a level of strategic partnership. The Turkish Foreign Minister declared that this process will be completed within a short period of time.
