Macedonian opposition has accused the family of the president of the country, George Ivanov of being involved in the Panama Papers scandal. The spokesman of SDSM (Macedonian Social Democratic Union), Petre Silegov said that Saso Tonevski, the brother of the wife of the president, Maja Ivanova, has business ties with “LIK Corp Panama City” company.

“We are publishing documents that testify this. Lip Corp Panama is founder and owner of Delfino Travel Balkans. Saso Tonevski, brother of Maja Ivanova is also an owner and heads of this company, Delfino Travels Balkans. A few days ago or during the time when the Panama Papers scandal broke out, Delfino Travel Balkans was removed from the company register”, Silegov said.

But the president’s cabinet has reacted against these accusations.

“We call on SDSM to publish any money transfer made by this company and the names of all the people involved in this company, which has in fact been founded in Skopje and has never been active. Otherwise, Silegov must prove these accusations in court”, says the reactions of President Ivanov. /balkaneu.com/
