EU Enlargement Commissioner, Johannes Hahn is expected to visit Skopje next week, in another attempt to save the Przno Agreement, reached by the four largest political parties in the country with the aim of holding general elections on 11 December.
Hahn’s visit has been confirmed by his cabinet’s spokeswoman, Maja Kocijancic. “Euro commissioner Hahn will meet the representatives of the four largest political parties, the Special Prosecutor and representatives of civil society, while the agenda of talks relates to the developments in the country, especially the holding of elections in December”, Kocijancic said.
The decision of the largest party in power, VMRO-DPMNE not to support the bill on witness protection and the extension of the deadline for the investigations led by the Special Prosecution, has brought back tension between the four political parties and is threatening the holding of elections on 11 December.
Hahn was among those who brokered the Przino agreement, reached in June last year in Skopje between the leaders of the four main political parties. /balkaneu.com/
