Republic of Cyprus ratifies Council of Europe’s Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence
The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Cyprus, Ambassador Spyros Attas, met on November 10th 2017 with the Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe Gabriella Battaini Dragoni to whom he deposited on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus the instrument of ratification of the Council of Europe’s Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence.

Cyprus is the 27th member state ratifying the Convention and the instrument of ratification was submitted only days before the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (25th November) emphasizing the importance that Cyprus is giving to the elimination of such unacceptable phenomena./IBNA
