Based on a court order, the Special Prosecution has seized last night a number of documents from the Ministry of Culture. The prosecution is aiming to examine the tender procedures that this ministry has realized for the “Skopje 2014” project.

The Special Prosecution has confirmed the case, saying that everything will be clarified tomorrow in a press conference.

This case relates to the tender for the construction of the Museum of Macedonian War also known as the Museum of VMRO-DPMNE, which has had a cost of around 20 million euros.

Based on the information of this ministry, 123 agreements with different companies have been signed for this project. According to Macedonian media, if this project is investigated, many corruption scandals will emerge on the surface.

600 million euros have been spent for the “Skopje 2014” project and this project included the construction of monuments, baroque style buildings and other objects. The decision for this project was taken in 2007 by the government led by former PM Nikola Gruevski. /balkaneu.com/
