For the first time ever, Kosovo will be represented by a delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The decision was taken in the current session of the Parliamentary Assembly which is being held in Strasbourg.

The head of the Albanian Delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Valentina Leskaj says that this improves the level of dialogue and is an important step for the strengthening of democracy, human rights and the rule of law; with a positive impact on Kosovo and the stability of the region.

Mrs. Leskaj says that we must now see toward the future, through dialogue and not deal with the past filled with painful problems.

“We must not be drawn back in the past, as this doesn’t bring any benefits, neither for Kosovo, nor Serbia or the region”, Leskaj says.

“Our region is moving forward in the right direction and this decision for Kosovo is another contribution of the European Council for the prosperity of the region”, Leskaj says. /balkaneu.com/
