USA and EU have called on political parties in FYROM to support the work of the Special Prosecution and avoid any obstructions to its work.
US Embassy to Skopje reacted today by saying that all political parties must comply with the obligations stemming from the June 20 agreement in order to guarantee fair and democratic elections and not hinder the work of the Special Prosecution.
“The investigation on unauthorized surveillance and suspicions on the abuse of power, have a crucial importance in order for Macedonia to come out of this crisis. We believe that the requests of the Special Prosecution for an independent investigation are fair”, says the US Embassy to Skopje.
Meanwhile, the European Union has also sent a message through Richard Howitt MEP, who was in Skopje in the recent days. According to him, fact that conditions for free elections should be guaranteed along with the functioning of the Special Prosecution, are a big challenge for the country, ahead of the progress report which will be published by the EU. /balkaneu.com/
