Vote rigging will receive a five year jail sentence in Kosovo
People who attempt to manipulate the voting process during the June 11 elections in Kosovo may receive a jail sentence of up to 5 years.

This was declared today by Attorney General Aleksander Lumezi during a joint press conference with the Central Election Committee, Kosovo Police and other players responsible for the holding of the elections.

Attorney General Aleksander Lumezi said that the Prosecution is ready to deal with any cases which can jeopardize the right to vote.

He said that the freedom of voting is a guarantee for the consolidation of the state. Meanwhile, he said that there will be an added number of prosecutors.

Head of CEC, Valdete Daka said that people with criminal records cannot be part of the team of monitors.
